Sales
The Friends of the Almaden Library is a dynamic group of people
who help enhance the services and programs of the Almaden Branch
Library by means of fundraising (mainly the sale of gently used
and sometimes new books) and volunteer efforts. We recently celebrated
our 25-year anniversary, and are moving ahead in support of our
new facility which opened in May 2006.

Number of members: 110
Meetings: Four meetings per year. One around 6
weeks before each book sale and one around 2 weeks after each
book sale. The meeting in May includes the election of officers
for the coming year.
- How to Join: Everyone interested in supporting
the Almaden Branch Library is welcome to join the Friends. Membership
can be either Annual or Lifetime (see details on the Membership
Form). Membership privileges: subscription to the Friends of the Almaden Library Newsletter
sent several times each year. Pick up a blue Membership Form in the lobby book sale
area. Fill out the form and send it, plus your membership dues,
to the address on the form or give them to a librarian. If you
have any questions, contact the Membership Chairman, Linda Spencer,

Book Sales
There are books in the lobby sale area available for purchase
at any time that the building is open. To find the lobby sale
area, enter the front door of the building and turn right just
past the Community Center front desk. Price information is posted
there, and payment is on the honor system with cash or checks
to be deposited where indicated.
Donations of gently used books are gladly accepted (with the
exception of textbooks and Reader's Digest Condensed Books), and
can be deposited in the book donation bin in the front lobby of the building.
Two special book sales per year: the third Saturday in April
and the first Saturday in November.
