Along with the adjacent Almaden Community Center, it closed in December 2003, reopening as San José's first large joint library and community center on May 13, 2006. Staff at the Almaden Branch Library and adjoining Community Center seek to provide relevant educational resources and recreational opportunities to the Almaden Valley and neighboring areas.
