Family Learning Center at Dr. Roberto Cruz - Alum Rock Branch

Mission: “To offer a variety of educational activities for youth and adults. The educational activities build skills and promote confidence to achieve each person’s full learning potential. In addition, the educational activities empower parents with the knowledge to create a learning environment in the home.”

The Family Learning Center has four computers for use by the public, and a collection of ESL material including citizenship. The collection also has a variety of materials for adults who are improving their basic literacy skills and a classroom for programs.

Programs in the Family Learning Center focus on three areas:

• Parent and Child programs including Reading Readiness, Reading Champions, Homework Center and Parenting.
• English as a Second Language (ESL) programs including ESL classes, Conversation Groups and Citizenship classes.
• We offer Adult programs on health, employment, business and literacy.
