Homework Center Aide
Work with library staff and homework tutors to assist students in grades 1-8 with homework assignments in a variety of subjects. This position requires fingerprinting.
Library Services
Help your local branch library with a variety of services including processing and displaying materials, assisting with programs and special projects, and completing various clerical assignments.
Adult Literacy Tutor
Teach an adult to improve their basic reading and writing skills by providing one-on-one tutoring. Tutoring takes place in branches of the San José Public Library and at other public sites in San José. Significant training and support is given to volunteer tutors. Technology Mentor
Provide one-on-one assistance to customers on basic computer and Internet use, and word processing. Monitor public use of library computers.
teensReach (ages 13-18)
teens Reach is the youth advisory council of the San José Public Library. If you are a teen ages 13 to 18, sign-up and participate in library activities, become a library advisor and advocate, and acquire important leadership skills. For more information or to apply, visit our
