Summer Reading Celebration 2009



Summer Reading Celebration is an eight-week-long program that encourages recreational reading as an enjoyable activity that everyone can participate in. And it's totally free when you check out materials from your public library.

Starting June 13th, stop by your neighborhood library or go online to register!

This program is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library, Friends of Branch Libraries and Round Table Pizza, with additional support from Bay Area Parent™ and other community organizations.

How to Participate

  1. Sign up at your local library or online.

  2. Select a reading goal.

  3. Achieve your goal by reading alone or with others.

  4. Only those items read between Saturday, June 13 and Saturday, August 8 will be eligible.

  5. Celebrate your success by coming to the library to pick up your prize book starting July 11.

  6. Claim your prize at the Summer Reading Celebration desk by August 31.
