ROOMS: LISTENING ROOMS USE POLICY

Statement of Policy & Text
The King Library provides Listening Rooms (rooms 602 and 604) for use of media equipment to anyone with a current permanent Library card. Limitations are placed on the time, number of people, and use of these rooms. (See Requirements and Guidelines for specifics.)

Need for the Policy
The King Library recognizes the need to provide customers with Listening Rooms for use of media equipment to minimize disruption to other Library users.

Requirements & Guidelines
  • Listening rooms are used on a first come, first served basis.
  • Rooms are available for individuals or groups of up to 4.
  • A permanent Library card is necessary to use these rooms and keys are available at the Academic Reserves Desk, ground floor.
  • There is a two-hour time limit
  • No food or drink is allowed in the Listening Rooms.
  • Headphones and phonograph needles to be used in the listening rooms or 5th floor listening stations may be checked out at the Academic Reserves desk on the ground floor.

Security
  • Listening rooms are to remain locked when not in use.
  • Failure to comply with any of the above requirements will result in suspension of Listening Room use and reservation privileges.
