Statement of Policy & Text
|
|
The King Library's Browsing Library Collection requires multiple copies of current popular and high demand items.
The Library will purchase multiple copies of both popular and high demand items, on an ongoing basis, so that they will be:
- On the shelf for customer browsing in the Popular Library
- Available for customer reservations (holds). The only items that may be reserved are books, audio books, nonfiction videos and nonfiction DVDs and VCDs.

Need for the Policy
|
|
High demand items must be available for both browsing in the Popular Library and available to place on hold/reservation (when applicable) by customers.

Requirements & Guidelines
|
|
Multiple copies will be included in the Popular Library Collection for:
- Current, popular titles including:
- Fiction - all genres
- Nonfiction - up to date information on topics of high interest
- CDs - all categories
- Videos and DVDs
- Audio books & books on CD - abridged and unabridged versions
- Promotional rotating displays such as current events, subject displays, National media book club materials, hot topics, etc
- High demand items, such as best sellers, that are requested by a large number of customers and require a “holds” or waiting list.
