LIBRARY EXAM PROCTORING POLICY

print thisPrint This

Statement of Policy & Text
Exam proctoring is not available in the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library or the San José Public Library branch libraries.

Need for the Policy
The growing demand for proctoring of exams has become a significant burden to library personnel. Neither organization is set up or staffed to provide proctoring, even as a fee-based service.

Requirements & Guidelines
As some San José State University (SJSU) programs include distance education components, proctoring is a service that is provided to SJSU students only through eCampus at (See References A: Policy for Offering Proctored Exams.) SJSU Librarians teaching distance education courses will make their own arrangements through eCampus.

Patrons requesting exam proctoring that are not affiliated with SJSU will be referred to local organizations that provide proctoring for a fee. A list of local organizations that provide proctoring services for a fee is available at the Reference Desk and on the King Library web site. (See References B: Exam Proctoring Web Page)
