Near August 1st of each calendar year, Library heads of Collection Development or designees shall exchange information regarding the following year changes in current holdings in common.
Need for the Policy
SJSU and SJPL heads of Collection Development and designees need information to coordinate selection processes and avoid unnecessary duplication.
Requirements & Guidelines
Information exchanged shall include:
Changes in format (e.g. moving from print to microfilm or electronic versions
Canceling one format while retaining other formats (e.g. canceling print while retaining an electronic subscription)
Cancellation of printed subscriptions (with no other formats retained)
Cancellation of microform subscription (with no other formats retained)
