Payment in-kind is not accepted for items owned by the San José Public Library. For San José State University owned materials, the most recent edition of the book, in good condition, will be accepted in lieu of payment.

Need for the Policy

To establish a consistent policy regarding payment in-kind for materials owned by each institution.
|
|
Requirements & Guidelines
|
|
|
• Payment in-kind is not accepted for lost or damaged items owned by the San José Public Library items.
• Payment in-kind is not accepted for overdue fines owed on returned library materials, or in lieu of any other fee or charge owed or incurred by the customer.
• Under no circumstances may customers work in the library in lieu of payment of fines, charges for lost or damaged materials, or any other charge owed or incurred by the customer.
