The California Room has a large collection of historic maps.

• Map Subject Index
  

  The Map Subject Index is an alphabetical listing of locations (and other "Subjects" in the Index) and their corresponding maps (i.e., "Titles") in the California Room.

  Most of the collection contains street maps for Santa Clara County, San José, and other cities in Santa Clara County. The San José street maps date back to the 1870s. There are also some for cities in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay areas, although not as numerous as for local cities.

  In addition, the collection includes some planning and geologic maps of the local area.
