The Art of the Book

This exhibit draws upon the Special Collections & Archives department's rich and varied printed book collection and it illustrates the development of printing as a craft. The task of selecting a representative sample from the mass of significant material has necessarily been one of exclusion rather than inclusion, but the intention was to capture, in the manner of a snapshot, something of the diversity of the collection and to convey its significant cultural value as a research resource.
