Welcome to the new sjlibrary.org!

We are thrilled to announce that the new and improved sjlibrary.org, the joint website for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library, is now live!

Since 2003, the Dr. Martin Luther King Library has stood as a unique landmark as vibrant hub of information shared by the San José Public Library and San José State University. Our goal was to create a website that truly reflects that spirit of collaboration. Our teams created a new vision and design to tell the story of our unique partnership, showcase our joint programs, highlight our building’s unique spaces, and create a dedicated blog for our shared stories and updates.

We’ve rebuilt the site with you in mind. Here are some of the new features you can explore right now:

  • A More Vibrant Welcome: Our new homepage is dynamic and engaging, immediately connecting you with the most important events, resources, and news from both the public and university libraries.
  • Effortless Navigation: With a refreshed, clean layout, finding what you need—whether it’s a book, a database, a study room, or event information—is easier and more intuitive than ever.
  • One Library, One Website: We are shining a spotlight on the collaborative programs and services that make the King Library special. Discover everything our shared library has to offer the entire community.
  • Easier Room Reservations and Class Visits: We’ve streamlined the options for finding our reservable study spaces and scheduling class visits, making it simpler to use our facilities.
  • Stories from the Library: Our brand new blog and news section will be your go-to source for stories, updates, and media mentions that capture the life of the King Library.

We invite you to dive in, explore the new features, and discover everything our unique partnership has to offer.
