The display of flags in King Library shall be in accord with Federal and State law and The United States Flag Code as found in Title 4 of the United States Code, and in accord with University policy and with proclamations by the President of the United States, the Governor of California, the President of the University and the Chancellor as he/she deems appropriate. Only flags of independent states and areas of dependencies and of special sovereignty as defined by the United States government will be displayed.
The display of flags is subject to a combination of customs and laws and it is the policy of King Library that flags displayed in the library will be displayed in accordance with all laws and with generally accepted flag etiquette to ensure proper respect. This policy gives direction for which flags may be displayed and the manner in which to display those flags.
Guidelines for displaying the United States flag and flags from independent and areas of dependencies and special sovereignty in the library’s atrium:
